Tim Grillot's '65 Mod-Motor Mustang Cranks Out Big Power and Big Economy With Holley EFI
Tim brought his beautiful 4.6L mod-motored í65 Mustang on Power Tour 2011 where his wife, Adrianne tuned the car with Holley's HP EFI for ultimate control of the fuel injection. She changed the target air/fuel ratio to 15.0:1 for a cruising 25 mpg. Thatís quite a feat for a 500+ rear wheel horsepower supercharged car. Tim started building this car five years ago and up until last winter he ran a blow-through Holley carb. That setup made excellent power and ran pretty well, but no amount of carburetor tuning can beat the smooth transitions and fuel economy of fuel injection. Since the switch, heís had a major feature in Hot Rod Magazine, another feature in Modified Mustangs & Fords, feature on StangTV.com, and more than a hand-full of car show awards. Now that the Mustang is done, he plans to turn his í88 Mustang Coupe into a turbo mod-motor 275 Drag Radial managed by Holley EFI.
