Robert Bales meets a drag racing milestone with Holley's Dominator EFI
Robert Bales took his '98 Trans Am stock suspension drag radial car into the OTT5 Hot Street Class record book running 4.982 @ 150mph in the eighth mile.
Bales won the Oklahoma True Ten Five Throw-down in T-town race in the Hot Street class October 14th and 15th, 2011. He was first to the 4s, a real milestone. He qualified #1 and ran a 4.98 during eliminations.
He won the race with 50 contenders, and was the first to run into the 4ís, thanks to the tunabilty of Dominator EFI. He runs a conventional headed big-block Chevy with a single stage fogger nitrous system also controlled by the Holley EFI unit. With the complete engine control Robert runs 1.19-second 60-foots and sees that both 60-ft and ET can be improved with further tune manipulation.
Robert says, "With the help of these people we have been in the position to win some races so a special thanks to Holley EFI, Mike Duffy Race Cars, Keith Neal racing transmissions, Quality heat and air, WCS roofing, Neal Chance Racing Converters and my crew Clint Downs Clayton and Chase Shadid.
