Do you like the tunability Holley's modular carbs, but need to simply replace a Q-jet? The spread bore bolt pattern of the 0-80555C lets you do just that. It has vacuum secondaries and electric choke, so it is useable on a wide variety of vehicles and its single fuel inlet that is in the standard Q-jet location makes it easy to bolt on. Don't trust your performance to just anyone, Holley is the only modular carburetor company that has been in business for over 100 years and has powered every NASCAR champion since the 60's. ***The 0-80555C is a Model 4175 designed to fit GM spread bore passenger car and light truck applications. It is not compatible with Ford or Chrysler Spread bore applications. The 0-80555C is not recommended for any RV applications. The 0-80555C is not designed to pass any emission laws. The 0-80555C is to be used only for competition/off road vehicles or vehicles not required to comply with any exhaust emissions standards. A carburetor spacer could be required to clear certain components on stock applications such as the Mr. Gasket 3406.

SPREADBORE

THE 4175 SPREADBORE CARBURATOR LOOKS GREAT AND THE ENGINE STARTED RIGHT UP AND THE CAR RAN GREAT BUT: AS COMPARED TO THE CARTER QUADRAJET CARB I HAD PREVIOUSLY, IT GETS VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE! ON THE 400 CID ENGINE I WAS GETTING 17-18 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CARTER, THE BEST I HAVE GOTTEN WITH THE HOLLEY IS 10-12 MPG, NOT HAPPY WITH THE MILEAGE.

After discovering that the original Q-Jet had a damaged base plate by the original owner I ordered the 0-80555C Holley. Install was easy and I took the time to add a GM aluminum heat shield under it. MPG was never this cars intention, original Chevrolet specs state approx 10mpg, the Holley might be a little better, if you can keep your foot out of it but what fun is that? Cold starts are a snap, electric choke works perfectly. I suggest the Holley tuning book by Dan Vizard, while he doesn't directly cover the spread-bore type he does explain how Holley family of carburetors work and what you can do to adjust/improve how they are calibrated. I highly recommend this swap if you have a Q-Jet that is in sad shape.

Great product runs much better than the original quadrajet ever did and is more responsive bolted right on and the only thing I had to do was turn the idle up. As a side note you can use the original throttle linkage if you cut the left side off, that a way it clears the carb and you save money
