Race cars, street rods, rat rods, muscle cars, and trucks – if it's powered by an LS (or current-generation LT) engine, there's something at Holley LS Fest just for you. Drag racing, autocross, drifting, road-course racing, a 3S challenge, a dyno competition, the Bolt-On Power Challenge, and a burnout contest are just part of the annual extravaganza as thousands of gearheads from across the country converge on picturesque Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green the weekend of Sept. 8-10, drawn by the biggest celebration of General Motors' all-conquering LS engine in the world. Race, watch, check out the greatest all-GM car show you'll probably ever see, take a high-speed drag race driving class, or test your skill on a road track. The massive event attracts car guys (and girls) from all corners of the continent to Holley’s hometown track, and the event just keeps getting bigger every year. The following are overviews of a few of the most popular events taking place at Bowling Green – look for another to follow in the coming days:

DRIFT CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY LUCAS OIL PRODUCTS One of the most popular events at LS Fest is the drift competition, which attracts some of the top drivers in the nation year after year. It's open to all LS-powered vehicles, but not to all drivers – it's a special invitation-only extravaganza. Talented drivers compete in tandem and a panel of experts judges them in four areas: line, speed, angle, and style. Fifteen hundred dollars goes to the deserving winner, and the other podium finishers pocket gift certificates good for any of thousands of products from or any of the Holley family of brands. To enter, send an email to [email protected] by Sept. 1 and describe, in 200 words or less, your experience and qualifications. Just include photos of your vehicle and engine compartment and be sure to include the following information: your name, address, phone number, vehicle year, make, and model. ROAD COURSE CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS No event at LS Fest offers drivers more track time than the Road Course Challenge. Finding your line and honing your skills as you go, you can lower your lap times on the challenging two-mile West Course at NCM Motorsports Park for literally an hour and a half a day! If weather permits, participants will get up to five 20-minute sessions each day, all sanctioned by the Ultimate Street Car Association. You don't have to be a pro – prizes will be awarded for three different skill levels (novice, intermediate and expert) – and it's open to any make and model powered by an LS or current-generation LT engine.
TRACK X PRESENTED BY AMERICAN POWERTRAIN & PRO-TOURING Do you like autocross? How about road-course driving? If you a fan of both, Track X could be right up your alley – it combines the best of both disciplines in a single event. It's a test of driving skill through a series of gates and chicanes on the east portion of Bowling Green's National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park, highlighting car balance and driving skill and is open to all autocross and all-access participants. Speeds can approach 90 mph, and prizes are awarded to all podium finishers.
