2022 LS Fest East: Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center and Engine Power Presents Drag Racing

LS Fest is where the fastest LS-powered vehicles in the country converge on the drag strip, and 2022 competitors are bringing the heat! Friday kicked off with a test n tune session that saw all kinds of vehicles take to the staging lanes to dial in their combos. Later today will kick off first-round qualifying, and eliminations will follow shortly after. Check back often for photos and results.

Veteran small-tire racer Anthony Manna has captured wins in X275 with his 1998 Camaro. This weekend he’ll be hitting the track with a 360 LSX V8 that uses an 88mm turbo.

Brett Young, from Dayton, Ohio, swapped a 5.3L into his 1976 Pontiac Astre two years ago. It’s boosted by a pair of 66mm turbos that have powered the car to a best 1/8th-miletime of 5.38.

Jordan Fulton from Monroe City, Missouri, has owned his Syclone since 2014 and dropped an iron-block 6.0L-based 370 into it in 2019. It’s still all-wheel-drive and has run a best of 5.60 in the eighth. Pitted right next to Fulton is another 1990 Syclone, owned by Chris Germano from Fort Mill, South Carolina. Germano wanted to run the truck in autocross but the class filled up so he decided it was a drag race weekend. It’s powered by 427 LSX with an Ultra Street 80mm turbo.

Luke Corcoran and Jordyn Drummond decided that they’d spend more time racing this season if they’d pool their resources and focus on only one of their projects. Drummond’s project was the benefactor, but Corcoran was the only one able to attend LS Fest East, so he’s the one driving this weekend. The aluminum block 5.3L uses a BTR valvetrain and a Holley split intake. A Forced Inductions 94mm turbo feeds it up to 35 pounds of boost. He’s hoping to make it to a four-second E.T. in the 1/8th.

LSFE22 Rowlett Roxanne Mustang

James Rowlett's 1995 Ford Mustang, affectionally known as "Roxanne", has brought the battle to 8.6 Street, going against cars like Berry Cook's Trans Am and Christoper Girard's TrailBlazer SS.
