$1,000 worth of parts from Holley had plenty of fans entering Holley's 2022 Fox Body Sweepstakes. No surprise, really...with millions of Thunderbirds, Cougars, Fairmonts, Mark VIIs, every form of box-topped sedans made at the turn of the 1980s, there were plenty of people who suddenly had a shopping list ready to go. And that's before we consider the Fox Body Mustang contingent, which might as well be an army at this point. There were a ton of entries, so imagine our surprise when our computer-generated selector popped up the name James Rowlett.
James is pretty well-known throughout the halls here at Holley. A racer, tuner and builder from Tennessee, Rowlett has appeared on Motor Trend's Fastest Cars In The Dirty South with the "Boost of Burden", his American flag-wrapped Foxbody Mustang, has been seen blazing down dragstrips on Drag Week, and was most recently seen ripping up the burnout pad with "Roxanne", his 1995 Mustang, and "Honkytonk", his 1968 Chevy Impala four-door. When he's not putting an engine to the ultimate test, he's hard at work wrenching on something, somewhere.
To say that he was surprised is an understatement. When we asked, he told us, "I don't even know what to say...I don't know how the hell I won it!" To say that $1,000 worth of Holley product is going to go to a good use in his hands, however, is an understatement. There's always a need for something in the shop, and since "Boost of Burden" is currently sitting without an engine between the framerails...well, we aren't telling him what to do, but we would encourage him to fix that situation quickly. One can never have too many over-built machines at the ready!
