Top drivers from around the country will tear up the hills of Dyersburg, Tenn., April 27-28 at the Southern Rock Racing Cup Series event sponsored by Holley EFI. Racing at Bikini Bottoms Off Road Park will be contested in two categories – Rock Bouncer and UTV – and Tim Cameron is the reigning king in both, with championships in a row in Rock Bouncer and three straight titles in UTV. The series, now in its eighth year, pays out nearly a quarter of a million dollars in prize money over a 10-race season. Cameron is stuck in seventh place so far this year, well behind points leader Bubba Bacon but still within range of getting back in championship contention by the time the tour returns to Dyersburg in October for the finals. Points from the Southern, Northern, and Central regions all count toward the championship, and the driver with the highest total from nine events (one event for each driver is waived), wins the overall crown. The Dyersburg track is known for its loose dirt, which makes for tough driving and close competition in both classes. Its best-known challenge is the Cable Hill portion of the course, which is an exact replica of the original Cable Hill in Alabama – only this one is man-made entirely of concrete and covered in dirt. "For the fans, there's no place like Dyersburg," said SRRS founder and event director Clyde Bynum. "The view there is like nothing else in motorsports." For those unable to attend, the event will be broadcast live on Rock Racing TV and the Southern Rock Racing Cup Series' Facebook page.
