Due to manufacturing errors that can occur during the engine machining process, line honing, heat cycling and other procedures, it’s possible that your crankshaft centerline and bellhousing bore may be slightly misaligned. While most bellhousings fall well within the allowable limits, which is typically around 5 thousandths, it’s always a good practice to check the alignment whenever you install a new or replacement bellhousing on any of your engines.
