Jason Line and the team at KB racing in Mooresville, North Carolina, started testing Holley’s new Gen-3 Ultra Dominator carburetor around mid-season, and have since racked up some impressive results. In September, Line and his Summit Racing Pro Stock Camaro was runner-up at the Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals, won the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, and held the Low ET of Eliminations at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals. “When we started testing with the Holley Gen 3, it showed great potential right out of the box,” says Line. “It has proven to be a great design and casting. It’s performing remarkably well for us!” Line’s Summit Racing Camaro uses a 500 cubic inch engine that makes an estimated 1400+ horsepower. The Holley Gen-3 Ultra Dominator carburetors are designed specifically for all out racing applications like Line’s Pro Stock car, and utilize a new, patent pending main-body that’s 5/16-inch taller than the previous generation carburetor. The added height allows for larger radius air entries that deliver smoother airflow into new fully machined, big bore venturii. A new all aluminum body saves 3.8 lbs. over original models, and the fuel bowls have 20 percent more capacity. Redesigned billet aluminum metering blocks are fully adjustable and feature improved gasket sealing. The Gen-3 Ultra Dominator carburetors feature modified skirt boosters on 1350 CFM & 1475 CFM models to maintain a strong fuel signal, and also come ready for factory-style TPS mounting for use with data acquisition systems. “The Holley team put a lot of work into the Gen 3. We’re glad to see them in action in the tough world of NHRA Pro Stock racing. With top racers like Jason Line being successful and laying down blistering 6.590 ETs at 211.2 MPH, we’re confident they will help racers at all levels,” says Bill Tichenor, Holley’s Director of Marketing, “Our engineers listened to what racers needed to be competitive, and we responded with a powerful carburetor that’s also easily adjusted at the track.”
