Product/Brand Manager

Basic Qualifications:

·        Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint

·        Strong leadership and ability to effectively communicate product vision

·        Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a complex organization

·        Able to multi-task and prioritize workload

·        Able to lead multiple cross-functional teams

·        Passion for the automotive market

·        Comfortable mining and analyzing internal data to identify market trends to make recommendations on improving sales, share, and profit targets


Preferred Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering

·        Master of Business Administration

·        Automotive technical and product knowledge

·        3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following: product planning, brand management, product/marketing strategy, engineering or other roles demonstrating leadership

and ability to work in a team orientated environment


Position responsibilities include:

Product

·        Metrics: Know your numbers and trends vs. prior periods/ years

·        Product Line: Know your line and target consumers better than anyone in the company, this includes keeping up to date SWOT analysis, demographics and other strategic analysis

·        New Product: Contribute and ultimately lead the new product strategy and commercialization process (including Category gaps, market trends with goals of creating complete

solutions for end consumer

·        Product Support: Be responsible to maintain your product portfolio for new and existing product

·        Sourcing: Intimately involved with Purchasing group to ensure quality, cost, appearance, packaging, and other product requirements meet or exceed expectations.

·        Product Life Cycle: From ideation, through development into maturity and eventual obsolescence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the life cycle of your

brand(s)/Lines(s).

·        Strategic Planning: The ideal candidate will lead the strategic planning process by creating and maintaining strategic plans that can stretch out 3-5 years due to long development

lead times and competitive markets. 

Price

·        Pricing Strategy: Contribute and ultimately lead the pricing strategy for your brand(s), this includes understanding of retail price levels, MAP pricing, net pricing and channel

margins

·        Competitors: Understanding of competitive pricing and how our brands compare against the competition. Know where you want to be priced and manage accordingly

·        Profitability: Understand and manage profitability of your product line. Influence decisions on sourcing, features, cost reductions and other items that affect brand profitability.

Placement (Sales)

·        Distribution Channels: Understanding of the distribution channel and the top resellers that support your brand. Engage with sales management to identify new reseller leads,

product opportunities and/or issues that need to be addressed

·        Customer Satisfaction: As steward of the brands, the ideal candidate will need to identify, communicate, correct, and improve situations stemming from dissatisfied customers. 

Promotion (Marketing)

·        Consumer Experience: Constant review of company website to help consumers easily find and locate products. This can include YMM data, online product selectors, technical

data, videos, photography, etc. Optimize and create product landing pages creating a virtual salesperson through our Product landing pages for maximum effectiveness.

·        Brand Advocate: As the steward for your brand, it is the responsibility of the Product Merchandiser to engage the Marketing Team to ensure they are informed, motivated and

driving the promotion of your products. Working with the Marketing group to suggest new tactics, strategies, or ideas to ensure the products within your brand are getting appropriate

attention through print ads, videos, online advertising, forum posts, flyers, TV, show displays, etc.

Reporting

·        It is the responsibility of the Product Merchandiser to communicate the results of their efforts and direction to management on a periodic basis through written and verbal reports and

presentations in order to ensure management is continuously informed with respect to product dynamics
