Stevie Fast Sets Drag Radial Record with Holley EFI! Stevie "Fast" Jackson wasn't content to sit back and watch a new wave of turbo cars rule the roost in Outlaw 315 and Radial vs. The World, so he bolted a set of 315 mm drag radials to the back of his nitrous-huffing Pro Mod car. Jackson showed up to the Radial Tire Racing Association's Texas Nationals in Denton, TX where he navigated the field and met the old record holder, Rob Valden, in the finals. Stevie Fast uncorked a 3.75-second pass at 201.97 mph in his Holley EFI-powered Camaro, which was more than enough to shatter the current radial record!
KB Racing Continues Dominance of NHRA Pro Stock 2016 is a drastic departure from the norm for NHRA Pro Stock teams. Gone are the big hood scoops, their wheelie bars are shorter, and Holley EFI has replaced the familiar carburetors of the past. The two-car team of KB Racing has adapted to these changes at light speed and have been dominating the class all year. Greg Anderson won the first and third races on the schedule this year, and after the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals, Jason Line has claimed wins at the second, fourth, and fifth races of the year. This time, Line squared off with three cars in the unique format of the 4-Wide Nationals in the finals. This included another KB Racing-powered car, driven by Bo Butner, as well as Drew Skillman and Chris McGaha. Line subsequently made his quickest pass of the year, posting a 6.565-second pass at 211.33 mph!
Holley EFI Goes Heads-Up in Finals of Inaugural NMCA Factory Super Cars Race Ever since the announcement of the COPO Camaro, Cobra Jet Mustang, and Drag Pak Challenger, the world has craved seeing the three battle it out in heads up racing. The NMCA answered the call with the announcement of their Factory Super Cars class, which is sponsored by Holley EFI . The class pits the factory hot rods against one another in an exciting heads-up format. The 14th annual NMCA Ross Racing Pistons Muscle Car Mayhem event was the setting for the inaugural race. Two Holley EFI-equipped COPO Camaros made it to the finals, with Bruno Massel defeating Glenn Pushis with an 8.559-second pass at 158.31 mph!
David Barton Pilots COPO Camaro To Victory in Opening NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Heads up racing between the factory race cars from Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge isn't just relegated to the NMCA though. The NHRA's Factory Stock Showdown provides another place for fans to watch the best of the Big Three battle it out. David Barton, who typically wheels a Mopar, was in the driver seat of Gary Wolkwitz's COPO Camaro for the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL. Despite only having a week of testing in the car, Barton made it to the finals where he met #1 qualifier Kevin Skinner and his Cobra Jet Mustang. Skinner red lighted as Barton made the fastest pass in the class of the weekend with an 8.39-second hit at 162.78 mph. As with all COPO Camaros, the supercharged 350 cubic inch combination in Barton's car is controlled by a Holley HP EFI system. Detroit Speed's New '72 Corvette Prevails in Autocross Debut Ryan Mathews piloted Detroit Speed's new '72 Corvette in its Goodguys Autocross debut at the North Carolina Nationals in Raleigh, NC. Detroit Speed has played a pivotal part in many highly successful autocross cars, and with all of that knowledge have put together an incredible Corvette which was able to take the overall victory in its debut with a time of 33.307 seconds, which was 0.307 seconds faster than the second-place Shelby Cobra of Kevin Daigle. Detroit Speed's C3 Corvette features several Holley products including the EFI system, fuel rails, throttle body, fuel pump, and a set of Hooker Headers.
Stephen Smith and Holley EFI Closing In on True Street History When Stephen Smith's name showed up on the Gear Vendors True Street participant list at the 14th annual NMCA Ross Racing Pistons Muscle Car Mayhem event, everyone knew there was a chance for history to be made. Smith came up just short, but still registered the second fastest three pass average in the history of the class by going 7.80, 7.86, and 7.78 in full street trim, which was more than enough to earn him the overall win. This car still has all of its factory amenities, and of course a Holley EFI system!
