Holley People News '96 Nissan 240SX with LS Power!

Holley’s marketing team isn’t composed of a bunch of boring business grads with no automotive experience or passion. We’re all gearheads to the core. Blane Burnett is a prime example of a young enthusiast in the industry doing what he loves. Here’s his story in his own words.

“My fixation with automobiles got started with the appreciation for Hot Wheels. This led me to cut out all the Lambos and Ferrari’s from my dad’s automotive magazines to hang on my bedroom wall.  Not having a lot of money when I got my license, I started out driving an economical 92 horsepower Honda Civic. It wasn’t my car of choice by any means, and needless to say by the time I graduated high school it had a larger DOHC 1.6 VTEC engine pushing it to 14.50’s in the quarter.  Fast forward a few years and couple cars later.  I was through with college and working an in-between job looking for something better.  An automotive blog I had started led me to attend the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour stop here in Bowling Green, KY that Holley sponsored.  It was at that point I knew I wanted a job focusing around automobiles.”

Blane joined the Holley team as a marketing intern which eventually led to a full time job.  He now works with racers, magazine editors, other industry enthusiasts, and you might even interact with him on our Facebook page.  He helps Holley at trade shows, photographs our project car builds, writes  for the company and gets to talk about parts he knows and loves all day.

After work for the past year, Blane has shut his computer down and headed to the garage. There he labored away on his 1996 Nissan 240SX. The factory 2.0L made way for a 6.0L LS2 backed by a T56. He threw everything Holley at and turned it into a pretty incredible car with 379 rear-wheel horse power.   He hopes to drive it on this year's Power Tour and take it to the limit at Holley's LS Fest in September.

See the whole build here.
