Rick Anderson - '79 Mustang

If you've caught the last couple issues of the Holley Gearhead Newsletter, you have heard of heard Rick Anderson's Project Pretty Ugly once or twice before. He took a stock four-eyes Mustang and transformed it into a real sleeper. Leaving the outside as close to stock as possible, the insides surprised everyone. In the January 2014 issue of 5.0 Magazine is a full feature on his completed build. The small-block Ford stretched to 427 inches gets a V-11 XB110 Vortech supercharger with Holley water/methanol injection to cool the incoming air. Rick didn't ditch the nitrous system either, he is using an NOS dual dry nozzle system to come on between 3.500-5,000 rpm as a way to make the torque converter somewhat adjustable, not necessarily to make more power. Of course, Rick uses a Holley Dominator EFI ECU to control everything. See what almost 900 horsepower with A/C looks like in this story! Want to hear more? Pick up the January 2014 issue of 5.0 Magazines on the newsstand, or wait for the online version coming soon!

Did I mention this car took third place at Hot Rod's Drag Week small-block power adder street race class? Ugly went 1800 miles pulling a trailer, not on one!
