Layne Schranz's powerful 2015 Chevrolet SS hill-climb machine dominated the Open class at the prestigious Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.�Running a new Holley Dominator EFI unit and eyeing a Holley Digital Dash the whole way, Schranz charged to the top in just 9 minutes and 53 seconds to win by more than 11 seconds!

Logan Duvall has worked with us here at Holley for just over a year now. Little did we know,�all this time he and his family were building one of the most serious demolition derby cars to hit metal with metal. For some of that time, he's been working to perfect�a brand-new Flowtech derby header design�that has just become available. It's perfect for demo-derby competitors, truck pullers, and�mud racers alike!

Some of you might have noticed a new face at the end of this month's Gearhead Newsletter. Alex Healey recently�moved on to another position elsewhere in the automotive aftermarket and I'll be taking�over for him, at least for a while. We wish him the best. I thought I'd take a moment�to introduce myself.�I'm Todd Veney,�50, married, used to be a drag racer, and grew up working on my dad's Alcohol Funny Cars and dragsters. I graduated from the University of Akron in 1988 with a B.A. in the closest thing they had to PR (Business and Organizational Communications, whatever that is).
I got a job out of college writing for National Dragster at the NHRA headquarters in Southern California and was there from 1988 until 2000, when I moved to Indianapolis and continued in the same position through 2007. I spent 2008 working for a�Funny Car team on the NHRA tour, building superchargers and mixing nitro for drivers�Mike Ashley and�Frank Hawley�(don't ever do that). I raced Alcohol Funny Cars off and on from 1995 until last year, building the engine (not engines � I only had one) and doing my best to maintain my (not very fast) car and then doing the clutch for the much more competitive car I drove for Jay Blake's Permatex/Follow A Dream team from 2010 to 2015.
I've loved cars my whole life, but I'd never say I'm a true hotrodder like you guys � my daily driver is a 2014 Mustang that I haven't�done a thing to. I'll do my best to take Alex's place and come up with�videos, cool new products, and car-related stories for you�each month here at Gearhead News.
