It does every thing it says it should!

This is a great product. I bought this mainly to use to calibrate my tire size. I did play with some of the preprogrammed settings and could definitely feel the HP increase. Only complaint is I had to pay for an update on the Flashpaq before It would work. I feel like it should come fully updated and ready to use from Superchips

I really like how this product made my truck feel. The only thing I didn't like was I bought the product but then I tried to install it I had to pay an additional 40 to make it work for my year. I think the product should have included it already. Would have it a 5 star if it wasn't for that.

Works perfectly for my needs! The only thing I would recommend would be more information on all of the different settings when you choose customize the tune. Shift points,throttle boost etc.....

could not set it up on my laptop, had to go to in-laws on a pc to set it up and was a pain as i was trying to get ready to camp that wknd, worked good in truck once set up, but old flashpaq tuner for '17 sierra was easy to use on laptop, customer service wasn't much help either

More than I expected

I just purchased the Flashpac 2847 for my 2017 Silverado 5.3L. Mainly I just wanted to correct my speedometer for bigger tires, and shut off active fuel management. Both of those work perfectly. What I didn’t expect was the whole truck to drive better than stock. The transmission shifts are noticeably smoother going up and down, and the throttle boost feature is amazing. It actually made me smile driving. So much nicer. If you bought the afm delete and throttle booster separately, you’d already spend more than the flashpac. But this is loaded with way more features. The original setup was frustrating, but I was prepared for that due to reading the reviews. It did cost an additional $40 to purchase the ecu unlock for the new gm trucks. But In the end, it’s worth every penny. Highly recommended. Oh yeah, and the fuel economy is noticeably better. Are you kidding me? Thanks Superchips!!

Don't bother with this headache

First, you need to download their updating program, their instructions are out of date and you just gotta follow your heart with what to do. Then the tuner doesn't work and thinks you have to update it. While trying to update it 1st and 2nd time it thinks it's not plugged in. But it is, I've tried 4 USB ports, changing the cords etc. This is garbage and I'm going to ask for my money back. I should have listed to the actual reviews elsewhere. Oh and no EVER answers the customer/tech support line.

Been using it about 3 weeks so far. Purchased to correct speedometer from gear and tire swap. Corrected speedo and with the performance 87 tune picked up 3 mpg. Can definitely notice the power increase. Next will be the towing tune for pulling my camp trailer.

Very easy to set up and use

I used this to tune my 2019 GMC Limited( old body style ), these GM trucks drive miserably with the factory programming, the AFM is a constant irritation that saves a dollar worth of fuel per tank and has the added benefit of slowly ruining your engine. I tuned my truck with the 91 octane performance tune and shut off AFM, the truck drives so much better now, while this programmer didn't turn my truck into a rocket, it is noticeably faster and just all around drives better. Before the tune, this truck felt like some unseen electronic hand was always holding back the engine from making the power that it is capable of, especially at lower rpms. Now the vehicle feels like it should. Buyer should beware that, if you are still under factory warranty, as I am, you could potentially have a powertrain warranty claim denied by GM if you tune your vehicle. Not because this programmer will do any harm and as a matter of fact, shutting off the AFM is one of the best things that you can do to increase the life of your GM v8. As far as I am concerned, the vehicle drives so much better after the tune that it is worth the risk of GM weaseling out of a warranty claim.

Solved all my issues the stock gm 1500 has. Only down side is after spending 400 bucks I had to pay another 40 to use the device.

Had this for couple weeks now, little tip, if wanting to correct speedometer for bigger tires, measure actual tire size then works perfectly. ( my 35's were actually 34.25) I use 87 octane ethanol so I loaded 87 octane tune with superchips parameters for shift points. upped my idle 150 RPM for constant 40 PSI pressure. deleted AFM, and after week filled up & checked mileage for fun. after 50 miles averaged 21.2 MPG on a non windy day with a 2017 GMC 1500 with 7" lift and 5.3 liter. I can actually feel better shift points, slight more power & overall just runs like it should have from factory.

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago and man did it make a difference my truck averages about 12.5 miles per gallon and now I get 16.5 and a totally different truck shifts way better and more power excellent product.

It saved my gas mileage after a tire upgrade. And on that note corrected for the tires. The setup process could be speeded up but in told this is only with 17 up gm

I got this a couple months ago.. all I wanted to do is recal for my 35’s and turn off AFM.. Kinda pricey just for this two options..

Largely unimpressive so far

I bought this to hopefully get a bit more horsepower, shift better shutoff 4 cylinder mode, and to help with towing performance and fuel mileage. I just downloaded the 87 tune, shutoff 4 cylinder, added 10% throttle gain and took her for a test drive. I also installed a KN cold air intake this weekend and I’m not sure I see any benefit in performance with this tuner. It shifts a tad smoother but that might just me being hopefully that I didn’t flush $500 down the drain. I have yet to tow with it but you need 91 octane so is it the tow tune or the 91 octane? It did shut off the 4 cylinder mode so I’m happy about that. Also with the 10% throttle gain I did notice a drone/rumbling noise at about 25 mph and 35 mph so I cut this back to 4% throttle gain. Over all I’m about 4% impressed. Oh and to be fair I had low expectations to start with so I wasn’t expecting a rocket ship. I wanted a little more get up and go, 4 cylinder off and better shifting and I’d have rated it 5 stars. Heck if it shifted better I’d have rated it 5 stars. I will update after towing and if something changes. I’ll be towing soon and after that I’ll have some 91 octane left so I will do the performance tune and see how that goes.

There was no mention in the ad for this product that I needed to have a laptop or computer to download the files that I needed to install in order for it to work. That cost me another $300 for a used laptop on top of the $400 already spent on this product. All I was interested in was getting rid of the speed limiter on my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, so that the speed wouldn’t cut out at 160 km/hr. I updated my vehicle twice with this product and my vehicle speed is still limited to 160 km/hr. What was the point of buying this product???? Total rip off and I want my money back.

I purchased the product and downloaded the software and updated the Flashpaq F5 - first step. I then plugged into the diagnostic port on my Silverado, and followed the prompts, very easy. The truck definitely runs better and I enjoy the many features offered. The only thing I wish it had, was more info on how to tune the transmission, example 1.0 MPH @ 100RPM? I would like to get a 1st-2nd gear "scratch". Also if you already have a cold air intake (K&N Blackhawk) is the JAI tune offered better than the normal performance tune? Overall I am satisfied with the purchase and the customer service thus far, just wish there was a little more info on some of the features offered instead of generic info. No where in the manual did I see anything about the JAI tune, and if you had a cold air intake to install this tune etc.

Flashpac was able to remove the irritating DOD / Afm feature that we all hate. The speed governor and the laggy throttle pedal. All works great. I havent used a performance tune as i dont want to be stuck with 91 octance.

I bought this a month ago and love it. You will definitely see an improvement in performance from the Chevy lag that it has stock. The only thing I wish I could download updates on any computer . I had to use my daughter’s Mac since the the downloads and updates don’t work on windows XP. At the end of the day this product will definitely put a smile on your face. And it was worth every penny. I have gained 1-2 mpg since I installed it on the performance setting.

Quick and easy to use

I purchased the F5 Flashpaq for my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L and 6 speed transmission several weeks ago. It was delivered in two days on the dot. The instructions state that you should connect to the internet and update the tuner first. However, this was not entirely correct for me. I had to connect the tuner to my truck first in order for the tuner to pull the VIN number and information. I was not able to make any changes but the tuner did connect and get the information. Then I had to take the tuner and update it on the internet. It downloaded and installed the available FREE update and also submitted the VIN from my truck. Apparently the device has to be activated specifically with the VIN before being able to tune the truck. This process took about an hour after submission. I received an email letting me know that it was activated. After updating one more time I was then able to connect the tuner to my truck and upload tunes and make changes. If this is the process that is needed to enable the tuner then it should be documented a little better. So far the only tune that I have worked with is the 87 octane tune which I have been running for several weeks now. I also disabled AFM and increased the speed limiter. It was very quick and easy and the whole process took under 10 minutes to complete. I took it for a test drive and immediately felt an improvement in driveability. I felt as if I was driving a different truck. The throttle response is definitely improved. While it is hard to detect any gains in overall horsepower I can certainly feel the HP gains in the lower RPM range. The transmission shifts a little better but is still a bit clunky with certain shifts. So far I have not seen any impact on mileage but I have not taken any drives much longer than 10 miles at a time. Overall I would say that I am satisfied with the results. I will eventually experiment with the other tunes and see just how much things change but for the most part I want to set it and forget it. I feel that I have taken necessary steps to try and help my truck run better for longer as the stock tune and settings can be downright destructive over time.
