Hooker Headers is proud to announce the availability of their Super Competition Headers for the 2005-06 Mustang GT, P/N 6223HKR. The 6223HKR is a tuned length long tube header for off-road use only. The 6223HKR headers utilized lightweight 16 gauge 30” tuned length 1-5/8” primaries merging into a 9” long 2.5” slip fit collector for a simple, leak-free installation. Thick 3/8” machined flanges result in a perfect leak free seal against the cylinder heads. All emission control fittings are included for easy installation, including the O2 sensor extensions. Not included are O2 simulators for the rear sensors. Installed these headers result in minimal ground clearance loss over stock and work with the Factory H-Pipe or Hookers Cross-pipe P/N 16684HKR. Installation is a snap, since these headers can be installed from underneath with only disconnection of the O.E. Steering Coupler. Hooker’s 6223HKR headers come finished with a baked on high heat resistant black paint or for a show look Hooker also offer’s the 6223HKR header with a Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating, P/N 6223-1HKR. This coating provides improved thermal stability reducing the possibility of header cracking. The high luster finish is rust resistant and acts as an insulator resulting in higher exhaust temperatures within the system to increase performance while lowering the under-hood temperatures.
