Working under the carport beside his parents' house, Riley Stair built this absolutely insane '70 Pontiac Trans Am from the ground up. It's stretched to a full seven feet wide in the front and rear and rides on ridiculous 16x12 Panasport wheels from the 1990s. More of a race car than a street machine, it features a methanol-burning Motor Machine-built 400-cubic-inch big-block controlled by a complete Holley Dominator EFI system and a 4-speed G-Force transmission out of a NASCAR stock car. The short-stroke naturally aspirated powerplant has canted-valve heads, titanium valves, an unbelievable 16.2:1 compression ratio, and revs to 10,000 rpm on its way to more than 700 horsepower, and the drastically pushed back engine location necessitated one-of-a-kind 8-to-1 headers and a trick side-exit configuration.
Stair basically taught himself to weld as he went along, creating the outrageous machine from his imagination and doing virtually everything himself. The slammed-to-the-ground stance, tube chassis, full roll cage, and Lexan windows only enhance the race-car vibe (it even has an on-board fire extinguisher). He hand-made the steel flares himself from steel sheet and hand-formed the stock-car-style interior, crafting easily removed aluminum panels that are held in place by Dzus fasteners. He monitors all engine vitals via a fully customizable 7'' Holley EFI Digital Dash mounted on the steering column!
