The Kibbe And Friends Show: Their LS Fest Texas Review And Ferris Bueller's Day Off With The Auto Archaeologist!

In case you weren't aware, Holley's inaugural LS Fest Texas event recently happened at the Texas Motor Speedway and despite the searing temperatures and the nighttime-skewed scheduling, it was an absolute blast. There was no-prep 1/8th mile drag racing from Pit Road onto the speedway's banked oval. There was a huge autocross field. There was a lowrider Impala hittin' switches while competing in the middle of the burnout contest. And somewhere in the middle of all of that mess was Kibbe and Friends show producer Bernie and his friend Cody, taking it all in. They got to see the vehicles that showed up to show off, many of which haven't been seen at either the original LS Fest location in Kentucky or at LS Fest West in Las Vegas. Hopefully they stayed cool underneath one of the mist sprayers that were scattered about. They got to spend time with some of the Holley staff and apparently put a nice little dent into Kibbe's corporate credit card. (Don't worry, Rob...they're just T-shirts. How expensive can they be?) We can tell you all about LS Fest Texas, but they went there and they are providing their unsolicited opinions on the show.

They also are not doing a Dukes of Hazzard review this episode. Instead, they have cued up one of John Hughes' many 1980s classics, the 1986 quote gold mine "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". What's better...the absolute care-free attitude of Ferris, the fury of Ed Rooney, Cameron's nervous-neddy attitude? If you're car-minded, maybe you are thinking of the "1961 Ferrari 250 GT California" (in reality, a clone based on an MG chassis) that is instrumental in turning a random high-schooler's skip day into an extraordinary romp on the town (and an absolute blast of a joyride for two parking lot attendants) before becoming a point of reckoning for Cameron, whose father is sure to bury him in the backyard after he sees what happens to his diaper-polished Italian beauty. No matter what, Ferris Bueller exemplifies the kind of day any high schooler dreams of when you are close to the end of the school year and your brain is completely checked out of the classroom. And funny enough, the guys happen to have a friend who has ties to that movie set: Ryan Brutt, known to many as The Auto Archeologist. Ryan is joining the guys for this discussion, so hit play below and enjoy the ride!
