Jackson Shatters Drag Radial Record with
Holley EFI!
Race season is in full swing and Holley EFI-powered cars have charged out of the gate. From autocross to NHRA Pro Stock racing, Holley EFI-powered cars are dominating the competition! The father-son combination of Ray & Guido Fassel showed up at the 2015 Holley Hot Rod Reunion last year in a pair of unique rat rods. Chevrolet's 6th generation pony car is the best performing Camaro of all-time, but there is plenty more power to be unlocked. Recently, the Holley family has grown to become the Holley/MSD family. That means we have a lot more to choose from when it comes to employee rides. One of those new family members is Aaron Allison, the Vice President of Engineering at MSD. When Aaron isn't busy with his many responsibilities at MSD, you can find him hanging the front hoops of his 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier that he campaigns in NHRA Super Stock.
As you can see, this Cavalier is a little different than the ones you might typically find on the street. For starters, it now sends power to the correct wheels in the rear. Power comes from a 345 cubic inch SB2-based small block Chevrolet. A 1050 cfm Holley Dominator supplies it with enough air and fuel to get the 2,800-pound car down the 1/4 mile in 8.74 seconds at 156 mph. Being an MSD man, it should�come�as no surprise that the ignition system has received a full complement of MSD products including�an ignition box, distributor, crank trigger, and wires.
Drag racing is more than just a pastime for Aaron though. He is currently leading the NHRA Division 3 points standings and has won and runner-upped on the Lucas Oil Tour this year as well. In 2015, Aaron won the NHRA Summit Nationals in Stock. On top of those NHRA successes, Aaron is also a 4-time IHRA Division champion, 2-time IHRA National Event winner, and 16-time IHRA Pro-Am winner.
