16-Year-Old Brings '73 Dodge Dart Sport to Life with Holley EFI

16-year-old Mason Stoermer has what a million kids used to want and some still do: his own hot rod. The high-school sophomore, a lifelong Mopar fan, drives what casual observers always think is a Duster but actually is a '73 Dodge Dart Sport with a 4-speed transmission. It's powered by a 318 cubic-inch Chrysler engine with a complete Holley Sniper EFI system. "Now it has better throttle response and more power than when it had a carburetor on it, but what's really cool is the whole thing looks like a carburetor," he said. When Mason and his dad located the car in Georgia it was equipped with a stock intake and a Holley 600 cfm carburetor. They installed an aluminum Weiand dual-plane intake and a Holley air cleaner, along with the electric fuel pump required for electronic fuel injection. Future plans call for the Stoermers to possibly add a turbocharger, a new exhaust system, a blacked-out grille, and, eventually, a blue paint job.
