AEM Releases New Pencil Coil Design

May 12th, 2014, Hawthorne, CA – AEM has updated its pencil coil design (PN 30-2854 & 30-2854-4PK four pack coil kit). The new coil design features the same housing as popular K-Series coils but they are two-wire “dumb” coils designed for use with high energy CDI systems.

The new AEM Pencil Coils include a mounting hole for use with a custom mounting bracket or they can be installed in the factory location on Honda B/D/H/ and K series engines.

The coils measure 170mm in height, eliminating the need for AEM’s previous short and long coil design. Each coil kit includes mating connector(s), mating connector lock(s), wire seals, terminals and dielectric grease.

CDI PENCIL COIL FEATURES

• Increases spark energy for high-boost, high RPM and high compression engines
• Must be used with AEM’s Four-Channel Coil Driver (PN 30-2840) or CDI module
• Compatible with all standard automotive spark plugs (including threaded tip style)
