With 22 event wins, 9 event runner-ups, 5 national championships, and 4 national championship runner-ups in NMCA Nostalgia Class, Andy Warren’s merits speak for themselves. Warren took his first pass down the track at the age of 14 and went home with a runner-up trophy from a local street car night near Memphis, TN. Explaining his first win to his parents was nerve racking, but his father, a former drag racer himself, was nothing less than supportive. “The time spent with my family working on the cars and traveling together to events are dear to me. The friendships made through the hot rod community are like no other. Each out of town event we go to is like an extended family reunion. I don’t think you can find a community that’s as close knit as a group of drag racers.”

Like most racers, Andy is constantly fine-tuning every aspect of his vehicles, including the exhaust system. “I worked with Flowmaster since 2008 on race exhaust set ups for the Caprice. I was one of the first racers to test their Scavenger Series X-pipe kits, and also was one of the first drag racers to test their newer Outlaw Pro Series mufflers and the sound is amazing! Every vehicle I have owned has been Flowmaster equipped, even my tow vehicle. We work together with ideas and continuous improvement.”

Andy is heating up the track in more than one Flowmaster-piped ride this season. Warren recently debuted a 2013 V6-powered Mustang in the Ford Muscle Series. “If I can still manage to run mid 13’s and win some races, that will prove to the person looking to get into a traveling series that you don’t need a super-fast car or truck and trailer to be successful and have fun doing it,” said Warren. Everything’s going well so far and Andy has made it to the 2nd round with both the Mustang and his ’71 Caprice. With 4 events left in each series, Andy is still in the hunt for an NMCA championship and is looking like a Top 10 contender in Ford Muscle.

From the family’s 1992 Ford Tempo to his decorated 10-second Chevy Caprice and now the ’13 Mustang, Andy continues to open the minds and hearts of racers and spectators alike. Flowmaster and Hurst are proud sponsors of his efforts and will continue to champion for Andy Warren as he pursues his passions and pushes himself, his cars and the sport.
