Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, legendary NHRA racer and engine builder has passed away at 81 years old. Jenkins had won thirteen NHRA drag races between the years of 1965 and 1975, already earning him a legendary status for racing alone. His formal training being in mechanical engineering, the "Father of Pro Stock" went on to build championship engines, innovating numerous performance products. Jenkins built engines won five NHRA Pro Stock and three AHRA championships. After having lead a career that earned him inductions into multiple motorsports halls of fame, in 2001 he was ranked eighth in the NHRA's top 50 drivers of all time.
