Holley MoParty 2021: The Dukes Of Hazzard

Within the hollers and rolling hills of Hazzard County, legends regarding an orange 1969 Dodge Charger that was something to behold have been told. This ain't no run-of-the-mill Charger, now...we're talking a solid ridge runner, a racer, hell on wheels with Hazzard County's most talented wheelman behind the wheel and his cousin riding shotgun, the pride of the county and the scourge of the county commissioner and his police force. Tales of the actions of the Duke cousins and their Dodge almost sounded too wild to be realistic: high-speed antics on the quiet dirt roads, drifting around on the streets in town, and everyone from back in the day has at least one story of seeing the Charger, the one the boys called the "General Lee", taking flight as if that was a normal thing.

Surely, Mopars don't fly...right?

Well, Jamey Smith has proven that they do. He returned to Holley's MoParty with his General Lee to put on a show for the fans once again. If you're preparing to agonize over yet another 1969 Dodge Charger going to the grave after flight, don't...we try to keep it a bit of a secret, but Jamey's "Charger" is actually a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor wearing restoration Charger parts. Why a Crown Victoria? Well, nothing against the Charger, but the Vic's full frame adds strength and the suspension of the Ford has been proven to take an absolute beating. The wheelbase is very close to the Charger's measurements and if something happens...well, it wasn't a Charger that met it's end, now was it?

From two-wheeled antics while toying with two period-correct patrol cars (a Plymouth Fury and a Dodge Monaco) to the moment of flight, Smith put on a solid show for the MoParty crowd. The General Lee even managed to hold it's head up high and move off under it's own power after landing. There's not much that'll stop that orange streak, now is there?
