Hammertown is just about to open up for business. Among the Joshua trees, creosote bushes, sand and rocks is an off-roader's paradise. Early each year, the Johnson Valley Off-Road Park transforms into a sort of Mecca for rockcrawlers, desert racers and enthusiasts as the 2022 King of the Hammers roll in for ten days of competition and fun. Strength and durability have to be a part of this program...with names like "The Wall", "Heartbreak Hill", "Choose Your Own Adventure" and the very encouraging "Full of Hate", King of the Hammers is a rough and rocky test for the competitors and a great watch for those who are able to make it out to California.
