The creator of the Shelby Cobra and Shelby Mustang, Carroll Shelby has passed away at the age of 89. Shelby leaves behind a legacy of some of the finest high performance automobiles ever conceived. The race car driver turned automotive designer worked with Ford, Dodge and Oldsmobile as well as his Shelby-American company. His inductions into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 1992 were well deserved, yet a mere fraction of the accolades and contributions that Shelby made to our culture.
