LS Fest East 2021 - Power Wheels Downhill Challenge

There is something innocuous about the cute, plastic Power Wheels car, isn’t there? Built as a simple, low-speed way to introduce young children to the joys of driving at an early age, little replicas of Jeeps, Corvettes, tractors and more have delighted young’uns for ages. Can you picture the joy and happiness as the little tyke slides behind the wheel and the quiet whirr of the electric engine moves them through the grass of the front lawn at a walking pace? “Beep-beep!” goes the little horn and everything. Such a sweet sight, isn’t it?

2021 LS Fest East Downhill Challenge

Several years ago, presumably as a laugh, trail riders started bringing old, abandoned Power Wheels vehicles with them on the trail and started what they refer to as “Barbie Jeep Racing”, where adults riding a toy meant for two kids with a combined weigh 130 pounds went bouncing down a steep dirt hill, usually with hilarious results. Well, we aren’t putting our competitors through that kind of torment at the Red Line Synthetic Oil/Hyperfest Power Wheels Downhill Challenge, but competition is fierce and there might be a tumble or two…or a water balloon coming in from left field!
