The 3S Challenge stands for Speed, Stop, and Steering. This unique segment combines elements of autocross and speed-stop courses, pushing the limits of both car and driver. It’s a true test of balance, blending power, suspension setup, brakes, and driver skill to achieve the fastest time.
The Pushrod V8 gods must be happy because they've granted us near-perfect weather for the 15th anniversary of LS Fest East. On Sunday, the autocross course is transformed into the 3S Challenge. It’s a standalone event that's included for autocross competitors and a vital piece of competition for Grand Champion competitors.
The 3S Challenge features a side-by-side, low-speed, down-and-back course layout. This layout includes:
• 180-Degree Turnaround: A critical maneuver testing agility and precision
• Slalom: A series of tight turns demanding quick reflexes and control
• Stop Box: A final test of braking efficiency and accuracy
Each run will consist of a total time from both the left-side and right-side courses, requiring clean execution to achieve the best combined time. The challenge is as much about driver focus and skill as it is about vehicle performance.
