LS Fest East 2024: Drift Cars Invade Downtown Bowling Green

It may have started in Japan, but drifting has a lot of American appeal. Big power, big smoke, plenty of style, flair and technical driving ability.

Drifting has become a staple of LS Fest, as the LS engine is a great choice for drift vehicles. They’re readily available at almost every junkyard. The compact size makes them great for almost any swap, and of course, there’s plenty of companies like Holley that offer aftermarket support. Its adaptability to various tuning and performance needs ensures that it can meet the rigorous demands of competitive drifting.

LS Fest is celebrating its 15th anniversary and a record turnout of drift cars is on hand for the occasion, with 64 registered. Thursday night, the Bowling Green police department assisted by leading the annual drift cruise to the historic downtown Fountain Square Park, from 7:30pm to 9pm.

The cruise is now in its third year, with an epic turnout of over 50 vehicles this year overtaking the downtown square. Huge thanks to the city of Bowling Green for being accommodating and welcoming for our crew of LS-swapped vehicles.

Will the cruise return next year? “Absolutely! Downtown Bowling Green has been super supportive,” said Nick Swann, event coordinator. “We did a lot of promotion, handed out flyers, told local businesses we were coming and they’ve been encouraging.”
