Billy Vose and the MPS/Thyen team took home the win at the PDRA Pro Extreme Motorcycle Drags at the Virginia Motorsports Park, July 28th, 2014. The motorcycle is powered by a highly modified Suzuki Hayabusa powerplant which uses a Holley Dominator EFI Electronic Control Unit. The affectionately coined, "MPS Lethal Injection” is a combination of MPS' Spyder Dry Nitrous and the Holley ECU, which controls all of the motorcycle’s functions including the data logging. “It’s the ultimate in adjustability.” Says Dan Rudd of Motorcycle Performance Specialties (MPS). “We love our Holley System. It’s the heart of our motorcycle. We've been using it for the last 3 years and have slowly been getting better and better.” The team started the weekend with a few disappointing runs due to traction and electrical issues, Billy Vose and his crew finally sorted out the gremlins and managed a 4.153 @ 171.69 mph E.T., which put them in the #6 qualifying spot. They then went on to win the first round with a 4.162 @172.17 mph against Terry Schweigert’s 4.35 ET. At the semifinal, Vose pulled a .008 tree and tore up the track with a 4.088 @172.94 mph to beat Ronnie Procopio. At the finals, Billy Vose rode against Eric McKinney and clinched the victory with a 4.11 @172.32 mph against McKinney’s 4.17 @146.50 mph.
