Superchips and its line of tuners have made a big impression in the automotive world. Taking power locked away by a vehicle’s computer and bringing it to the fore, such products as the Flashpaq and Flashcal have been a big hit since their debuts.

The Jeep model Flashcal (left) has increased memory with a faster processor for improved speed. The new Flashpaq F5 (right) now features a color display.

For Jeep customers, McGinn was able to explain the background of Superchips’ products available for the popular off-road platform. “We start with the Flashcal, which is sort of a Stage One, entry-level programmer. For guys who have done tire upgrades and gear swaps, this is the device to use to dial in the ECU. It’s a really straightforward unit and doesn’t involve anything too complicated.”

Next was the Flashpaq, which had its own model in the Flashpaq for Jeep. It contained everything included in the Flashcal, with the added feature in the CRAWL tune, which removes jerky throttle response when rock-crawling to deliver a smooth experience.

Up from the Flashpaq was the TrailDash2 (TD2). “This is the premium option for Jeep owners out there,” explained McGinn. “It really applies for the JK Wrangler, although we do have one for the TJ Wrangler too, but it has fewer features.” New for this device is the optional Expandable Accessory System (EAS), which can tie LEDs, e-locker differentials, winches, and other electronics all into the TD2. From there, they can all be activated and deactivated with the TD2’s touchscreen display.
