More versatile and robust than its predecessor, the 1500 took a significant step forward when Ram introduced the fifth-generation full-sized pickup. Outfitted with a new frame that was significantly lighter yet also more rigid than the outgoing truck’s, the revamped Ram 1500 sported a brawnier look, a more luxurious interior, revised front and rear suspension systems, and plenty of new technologies both in the cabin and under the hood.

“These packages are the result of the voice of the customer,” says Simmons. “People are coming to the various brands under the Holley Performance umbrella for all kinds of different upgrades and modifications. The Holley Truck & Off-Road Performance Package for 2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 pickups motivated by the 5.7-liter V8 [PN. 60-110] not only ups the game of the legendary Hemi powerplant, it ensures the truck can make the most of its newfound power and performance.

“These parts were chosen based on the performance that they deliver as well as data we have that indicates which parts are particularly popular for these vehicles,” Simmons explains. “That’s not just sales data, though. We regularly conduct focus groups and engage directly with customers to get a better understanding of how they want to improve their vehicles – whether that’s at events, in stores, or through calls to our customer service lines.”

As with the Performance Packages that are offered for other platforms, the mission is to provide balanced performance improvements. As such, this collection of components is designed to enhance the capabilities of both the powertrain and the chassis.

ADS Racing Shocks Suspension

That effort kicks off with ADS Racing Shocks' Mesa-series coilovers for the front and rear suspension. “While these are direct-fit replacement parts, they’re a huge upgrade over the factory pieces,” says Simmons. “The 2.5-inch shock body provides increased fluid capacity that helps resists shock fade while off-roading, while the internal floating piston design ensures consistent damping performance and improved responsiveness.” These coilovers can also provide as much as a 2.5-inch lift to the truck’s ride height up front and up to two inches in the rear, while the ceramic powder-coated steel shock body and black anodized billet aluminum top and bottom caps enhance both durability and aesthetics.

Flowmaster Signature Series exhaust system

In keeping with the premium theme, the package also includes a Flowmaster Signature Series cat-back exhaust system. “This is a truly high-end product that looks great and delivers real-world performance benefits,” says Simmons. “It’s constructed from brushed 304 stainless steel and TIG welded, both of which contribute to its more upscale appearance. And of course you also get that classic Flowmaster sound. Here it’s aggressive in tone but moderate in volume, which I think is a great combination for these trucks.” The system also delivers dyno-proven power gains of 13 horsepower and 13 lb-ft of torque at the wheels and is designed to utilize the factory exhaust hanger locations and connections for an OE-like fit.

DiabloSport Pulsar XT

The DiabloSport Pulsar XT also comes as part of the deal. This innovative programming tool gives you access to sought-after features like the ability to disable the factory MDS system, adjust throttle sensitivity, re-calibrate the speedometer for aftermarket wheels and tires, and disable the Auto Start/Stop system – all without the need to swap out or unlock the factory PCM. “And the Pulsar XT allows you do it all through a state-of-the-art smartphone app,” Simmons notes.

Baer BIG Claw rotors

Rounding out the Performance Package for 2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 trucks with the 5.7-liter V8 are Baer BIG Claw rotors for the front and rear. This direct bolt-on setup provides improved braking performance at the fraction of the cost of a big brake kit thanks to its larger-than-stock rotor diameters. These rotors also feature slotting that provides an escape route for gasses and debris for more consistent pedal feel, while their zinc-plated and cross-drilled design provides a performance-oriented look. Caliper relocation brackets are included in the kit to provide the necessary clearance for the larger rotors, but the system remains compatible with the OE pads and pad hardware.

“Baer has a long history of delivering serious stopping power in performance applications, and since we’re going faster and driving harder with these other upgrades, we want to enhance braking performance alongside those other improvements,” Simmons says. “As you push your truck harder, you’re going to want the elevated, repeatable response that this kit provides.”

The Holley Truck & Off-Road Performance Package for 2025-and-newer Ram 1500s powered by the twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane I6 [PN. 60-115] follows a similar recipe for performance.

Since the latest iteration of the Ram 1500 is an evolution of the fifth-generation design, the ADS Mesa 2.5-inch coilovers and Baer Big Claw brake kit components included in this Performance Package are identical to the parts listed for the 2019 to 2024 trucks. “As a result, the benefits on the chassis side of the equation are going to be pretty similar,” says Simmons. “But on the powertrain side, things get really interesting here.”

Although Ram’s transition away from the 1500’s formerly-available Hemi V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder was a controversial move, the power benefits are undeniable. Not only do these inline engines deliver significant gains in both standard output (420hp) and high output (540hp) as compared to the naturally aspirated V8s that they replace, they also offer huge potential for even greater output with a few carefully-selected aftermarket upgrades.

“The gains on the dyno are pretty incredible,” he tells us. “You can get these trucks to run alongside a stock TRX with very little effort.”

The recipe starts with a Flowmaster Outlaw-series cat-back exhaust. This system features 3.0-inch, mandrel-bent, 16-gauge, 409 stainless steel tubing for long-lasting durability as well as sharp-looking black ceramic-coated exhaust tips, but it’s the improvements in power output that really impress. “We’re seeing increases of up to 45 horsepower and 43 pound-feet of torque just by swapping over from the factory exhaust system,” Simmons says. “And you get that deep, aggressive tone that the Outlaw series systems are known for.”

The exhaust system alone will provide performance improvements that you’ll feel in the seat of your pants and see on your timeslips, but Holley Truck and Off-Road didn’t stop there.

“This package also includes the DiabloSport Pulsar Cat6,” he points out. “This is a product that we launched earlier this year specifically for the twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine. Like the Pulsar XT for the Hemi V8 in earlier models of the Ram 1500, it provides the ability to do things like adjust throttle response, read and clear codes, and things like that, but what really makes this device so essential are the big gains in horsepower and torque that it unlocks.”

Model year 2025-and-newer Ram 1500s that are equipped with the standard output 3.0-liter I6 can see power gains of up to 63 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque at the wheels with premium fuel, while high output versions of the 3.0-liter I6 can gain as much as 78 horsepower and 94 lb-ft at the wheels. “That’s something you’re definitely going to feel,” Simmons says with a laugh. “And as part of the Performance Package, you have the peace of mind that it’s going to work seamlessly with these other upgrades. These packages are for people who prefer to do things right the first time.”
