The Legendary Frank Kimmel Wins Number 75

How good is Frank Kimmel? For starters, Kimmel holds a record for being a nine-time ARCA Racing Series champion. Couple that with having led more laps than any other active driver and winning the pole at more superspeedways than any ARCA driver ever. With a track record like that, you would not expect Kimmel to go on a 75-race win-less streak. Until this past weekend, the last ARCA race won by Kimmel was the Eddie Gilstrap Motors 200 in September of 2008. Fast forward to the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway this past Friday night. Kimmel had never won an ARCA race at this track, but on lap 158 of 200, his no. 44 Ansell-Menards Toyota took the lead for the remainder of the race. The victory would be his 75th career ARCA win and puts him within striking distance of the series points leader Chris Buescher, just behind Brennan Poole, in 3rd place. Watch Kimmel, Buescher and Poole duke it out at Pocono this Saturday on SPEED at 3pm ET.
