2019 Year In Review: Classic Chevy/GMC Truck Industry News

01/01/2020

2019 is in the rearview mirror and 2020 is looking good up ahead. Last year was a great year for the classic truck industry in a variety of ways. A slew of new parts was reproduced, the market saw strong resale numbers continue and our 21st Annual Show ‘n Shine was a huge success.

Classic Truck Market Watch: Values Continue to Rise!

2019 was another great year for the classic truck resale market. 1947-91 Chevy & GMC trucks, Blazers, and Suburbans look to continue their stronghold on the market in the upcoming year. Last January, the 2019 Scottsdale Barrett Jackson was inundated with GM trucks and SUVs so Ronnie from C10 Talk put together a list of the Highest 10 and Lowest 10 Selling Trucks of the event. While some will complain that the price of the average truck is rising, it gives reassurance that our time and money spent with these classics is appreciated and that they will hold their value in the future.

New Classic Chevy/GMC Truck Parts and Innovations in 2019

Last year saw the release of some exciting new products. 1973-74 GM licensed Chevy Grille, 1973-91 “Premium” Doors, 1973-80 “Premium” Hoods, 1981-91 Bumper Guards, 1969-72 15” Steering Wheels, 1947-52 GMC Hood & 1958-59 Chevrolet Hood. In addition to these parts, Brothers Trucks released several exclusive parts to the classic truck marketplace this year. 1960-66 Behind Seat Speaker Brackets, 1967-72 Behind Seat Speaker Brackets, 1960-66 Lower Seat Brackets, 1967-72 Lowered Seat Brackets, 1960-63 Delrin Door Hinges, 1958-66 Fleetside Delrin Tailgate Hinges & 1967-72 Fleetside Delrin Tailgate Hinges. Looking forward to 2020 we anticipate another batch of high-quality restoration and custom parts to be released. A few that we are willing to share with you are the upcoming releases of GM licensed reproductions of 1973-87 Shortbed Bedsides, 1973-87 Vent Window Assemblies, and our highly anticipated 1973-87 Long-To-Shortbed Conversion. 21st Annual BROTHERS Trucks Show & Shine & Get Out ‘N Drive

A definite highlight for us last year was our 21st Annual Show ‘n Shine. We take great pride in putting on this show for you guys and appreciate all your help making it a premier event every year. This year we had a brand new venue hosting a sold-out event with 650+ classic trucks on display and thousands of spectators.

In addition to our Show ‘n Shine we put on another driving event this year with the 2019 Get Out ‘n Drive. Participants got out and drove their trucks on a 115-mile loop exploring SoCal’s beautiful coastal routes, canyons, and highways.
