Track X is what happens when you take the high-speed, open road feel of road course racing and add just enough autocross-style gates, chicanes and slaloms to keep the speeds down enough so that drivers of all skill levels can enjoy driving their cars at a reasonable limit. For LS Fest Texas, the Track X portion of the event was held on the large road course section of asphalt on the southeast section of Texas Motor Speedway's infield.
Unlike most of the other events, which had a competition attached to them, Track X was more of a "fun run" situation that allowed drivers to test the limits of not only themselves but their machines. With a solid amount of Track X drivers also competing in the Autocross as well, heading out to make a lap (or two, or five...) was a way to have fun or to dial in their skill just a little bit more.
Feras Qartoumy and his pet monster C6 time attack car were on hand, cutting impressive lap times and showing what the brutally fast record-holding Corvette could do.
