Baer has expanded its BIG Claw performance brake rotor line with the new BIG Claw HD, designed for heavy-duty trucks like Ford F-250/F-350, GM 2500/3500HD, and Ram 2500/3500. This upgrade allows owners to easily install larger rotors and caliper relocation brackets without modifying brake lines or replacing calipers, making the process as simple as changing pads and rotors. The BIG Claw HD system provides an accessible yet significant braking improvement over standard replacements.

The BIG Claw HD rotors are about one inch larger in diameter than stock, increasing brake torque and heat dissipation. Testing on a Chevrolet Suburban showed reduced stopping distances and better braking performance, even with heavier aftermarket wheels. The larger rotor size offers improved leverage, shorter stops, extended pad life, and better resistance to brake fade thanks to increased thermal capacity.

Unlike the standard BIG Claw, the HD version features slotted-only rotors instead of cross-drilled ones to handle the higher heat loads common in heavy-duty applications. The slot-only design minimizes thermal fatigue while maintaining consistent pad contact and pedal feel. Combined with a directional vane design for improved cooling, zinc-plated surfaces for corrosion resistance, and precision-cast caliper relocation brackets, the BIG Claw HD delivers enhanced braking performance, durability, and ease of installation for hard-working trucks.
