NOS sponsored driver Chelsea Denofa and Ford Performance's Team RTR stood atop the podium at Formula Drift Texas after an eventful weekend when teammate Vaughn Gittin Jr. broke an oil pump belt debris during practice. The RTR team thrashed to replace the Roush Yates RY45 engine at the track and voted to skip final practice in favor of finishing the car, unfortunately they missed the deadline for 1st round eliminations by 10 minutes. Although disappointed, they set their sights on supporting Denofa whom responded in kind by winning round after round late into the night.

The 2018 RTR 5-D Spec Mustang is built specifically for sliding at break-neck speeds, using an existing body, Team RTR builds a complete custom chassis to ensure driver safety as they destroy tires during door-to-door action. A sequential gear box transfers power to an independent rear suspension that allows for near limitless adjust-ability and gives each driver the opportunity to tailor the car to their needs. Under the hood we find the Roush Yates RY45 Engine, a 450+ C.I. Ford V8, utilizing an aluminum block and forged rotating assembly designed with the harsh demands of drifting in mind. Topped with individual throttle bodies and port fuel injection, the RY45 is knocking on the door of 1,000hp @ 9000 RPM all without the use of a power-adder!

Denofa and Gittin Jr. start their journey towards Bowling Green, KY for Holley's Intergalactic Ford Festival held September 26-29 (Event Details) to put on an exhibition featuring a number of Pro and Pro-Am Drifters. Once completed they will be at Irwindale Speedway for the final Formula Drift event of the season on October 18th. We want to congratulate Chelsea and Team RTR on their victory and wish them the best of luck on the Title Fight this fall.
