HILBORN Fuel Injection has been selected to provide the induction system for the newest in-house Hotchkis Sport Suspension build, a 427 small block Ford powered 1968 Fastback Mustang. Designated as the HP-427, this 1968 Mustang will feature the newest suspension products Hotchkis has to offer. Compared to previous builds, the team at Hotchkis wanted to turn the heat up on the Mustang and chose a HILBORN EFI-R manifold to deliver the goods. Our manifold will be teamed up with a Holley electronics package and Weldon Racing fuel system.

Rob Byrd of Hotchkis Sport Suspension explains:

The HP-427 is based on one of the most sought after Mustangs, the iconic 1968 Fastback. Of course this model was made even more celebrated due to its starring role in the Movie Bullitt with Steve McQueen. Our build will naturally give a nod of appreciation to one of the best car chase scenes of all time but more importantly, it will retain a real world flavor.

Over 530-horsepower will be on tap with a 427cid Ford powerplant. A Tremec TKO-600 5-speed will transfer that power to a Currie prepared 9-inch rear end. Wilwood Superlite 4R will work in tandem with a Hotchkis Total Vehicle Suspension System and our 1.5 Street Performance Shocks.

When the HP-427 Mustang is debuted at the 2016 SEMA show, it will be a real world example of a favorite muscle car coupled with modern day handling and performance expectations. The Mustang will be just as comfortable on a road trip as it will be on a road course-and Hotchkis will prove it at events throughout the years to come!

Make sure to visit the Hotchkis booth at SEMA (booth 21261) to celebrate the unveiling of the HP-427 and at events throughout the year including the Grand National Roadster Show followed by autocross events during select Goodguys, NMCA and Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenges.
