Hillbank/Superformance builds an officially Shelby Licensed Cobra replica that’s outfitted with Holley’s Terminator EFI System

The Holley Superformance MKIII Cobra from Hillbank USA/Superformance is the first Shelby licensed Cobra replica that the company built using Holley’s Terminator EFI system. Located in Irvine, Ca, Hillbank USA /Superformance has built many Shelby licensed replica Cobras. But the company is always on the lookout for innovative technologies and high quality components to use in their performance automobiles. So when it came time to add a new SEMA demo car to their fleet of fast Fords, they chose to build a classic car with lots of power, but wanted the reliability, and easy cold starting performance of an EFI system.

Hillbank began by outfitting the Cobra with a brand new Ford Racing 460ci power plant ,built on a 351 Boss Block and is rated around 570hp. With a big fatty like that between the fenders, the company knew it had to find a fuel delivery system that would optimize the power potential of the engine. The decision to go with Holley’s Terminator EFI was cemented after a Hillbank Superformance MKIII owner came back from Bowling Green, KY, raving about how great the new Holley Terminator EFI worked on his 460 big block. “The man could barely contain his enthusiasm after driving the car for the first time,” says Lance Stander, CEO of Hillbank USA/Superformance. “After seeing how well the Terminator EFI system worked on our customer’s ride, we started doing a little research of our own and decided that we had to have this fuel injection system on our SEMA car.”

According to Stander, Holley’s new Terminator EFI system not only proved to be efficient, but incredibly easy to program and install. “The Terminator throttle body is pre-wired with only one connection and doesn’t require and computer experience,” says Stander. The Terminator EFI comes with a hand held programmer that’s used to set up the entire system. After answering a few basic questions from the programmer, the Terminator ECU learns the engine and self-tunes as it drives.

“Holley sent us a system right away and immediately inundated us with support from their very knowledgeable technical staff” says Stander. The MKIII Ford Racing 460 Engine, Tremec TKO 600 Transmission and the Holley Terminator EFI System were sent to V’s Performance to be assembled. “The guys at Holley were there every step of the way and the install went flawlessly,” Stander added.

Hillbank USA /Superformance says they’re thrilled to have Holley’s Terminator EFI System on such a great engine, and in one of their most popular vehicles. If you missed the Holley Superformance MKIII Cobra’s debut at SEMA this year, the car will be showing all across the country next year starting with the Barrett-Jackson Auction event in Scottsdale, AZ. and then the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, CA.
