What happens when you strap a pair of scorching-hot late-model Dodge muscle cars together by their tail ends and let them fight it out in a tug of war? Saturday night, the Dodge Thrill-Ride team showed the MoParty spectators exactly how that looks. After taking scores of eager fans for sideways, tire-blazing hot-lap rides around the MoParty autocross course most of the day, the team delivered its encore for the evening with a smokey burnout demonstration.
The highlight of the Dodge burnout show was the tug of war. The premise is simple: Back two evenly matched Dodge muscle cars until their rear bumpers are relatively close, then link them together with a heavy-duty cargo strap. With the starter's signal, the two cars go full tilt to see which one can pull the other one.
Naturally, with such evenly matched cars, very little ground was gained by either machine. And so, it was mostly just screaming supercharged engines and hurricane-sized clouds of tire smoke. But that's fine too. And the enthusiastic fans in the stands certainly approved as well.
