MSD Releases Start & Step Timing Control
Once the engine starts, or when the start circuit is de-energized, ignition timing automatically returns to the set mechanical amount. The Start and Step timing control also includes a single stage of retard, which makes it perfect for nitrous engines. The retard can easily be activated when the nitrous is turned on, and you can even add a manual switch to implement a high-gear retard. Up to 15 degrees of retard is easily adjusted with a dial. The Start and Step timing control can be connected to distributors using a magnetic pickup, solid-state breaker-less pickups like the Mallory Unilite, or even old-fashioned breaker points, and it's perfectly compatible with 4, 6 and 8-cylinder engines.
