This updated hybrid perimeter lighting system maintains the vibe of the original setup while improving night visibility with effective backlighting. Enthusiasts get the classic aesthetic, with improved visibility at night, creating a driving experience that transcends the limitations of the past. To bring new tech and greater useability to the G-Body platform, LED lighting is incorporated into the design. At the same time, this new gauge cluster is designed to combat signal noise – a persistent issue in classic cars that can affect the smooth operation of speedometers. Classic Instruments addressed this concern with a built-in ECM signal filter switch. This feature effectively removes signal noise, resulting in smoother and more accurate speedometer operation.
Classic Instruments also incorporated its unique Zeus Speedometer Technology into the G-Body gauge cluster. Zeus Speedometer Technology is self-diagnosing to help identify common issues, and signal-processing software ensures smooth pointer operation in fluctuating signal conditions.”
Recognizing the many different possible fuel-sending units that can be used on G-Body cars, Classic Instruments has introduced a programmable fuel gauge. This fuel gauge design allows flawless compatibility with nearly any possible fuel sending configuration. “The selector switch on the back of the cluster allows users to program the fuel gauge for various ohm ranges,” Hanna explained. “This feature ensures compatibility with the stock sending unit, any other factory sending units, or any Classic Instruments fuel sending unit. It’s a nod to the varied preferences and setups within the G-Body community.”
