After a rainy Tuesday night, the SGMP crew were determined to get the track dry and ready to lay down record passes. Driers, drags and a lot of glue were used to get the 660 foot lanes prepped for war.

Racers and vendors made their way into the racetrack and began unloading and setting up the fastest radial tire cars in the world. A brief early morning sprinkle was soon suppressed and shortly after lunch, drivers made their way to the staging lanes. Unfortunately the rain prevented testing and No Mercy started with first round of qualifying.

Frequent Carolina No Time and Holley EFI powered racer Scottie Ray brought his small block nitrous Mustang. Exact details can't be shared, but this budget combination is impressive and has laid down very impressive passes. Keep an eye out for Scotty this weekend.

Next Motorsports brought their beautiful steel body Camaro, it's BES bullet utilizes a Dominator ECU for all fuel, spark, boost and traction control. Running Pro 275, the Preston brothers are looking to break into the 3's on the smaller tire.

Ultra Street has been a highly competitive class and Wednesday night featured an incredible pass from Mark Rogers in his modular powered Mustang. Setting the Ultra Street record much lower than any other car with a 4.538 @ 154 MPH, to solidify his Q1 position so far. It will be exciting to see his "baby" Modular engine continue to lay down mid 4.50 passes this weekend.

As of Wednesday, Holley EFI now controls the quickest all-out Radial versus the World (as well as world's quickest nitrous doorslammer), quickest blown Radial versus the World car and quickest Ultra Street car.

Good luck to all of the competitors this week and stay tuned for further coverage from No Mercy X!
