The ‘55

We found our 55 for sale outside a gas station in my hometown of Foley, AL when I was 11. My dad and I picked it up as a new project after getting rid of our 1953 Chevy 3100 pickup. The car has been well used since we found it, logging countless cruises looking for fun, dozens of car shows in our area, and multiple journeys from the beaches of Alabama up to Bowling Green, KY for the Annual Tri-Five Reunion.

It was restored in the late 80’s by a local builder who swapped it to a SBC 350 with Turbo 350 trans. We have done a ton of various modifications since we got it to make things more comfortable, a little faster, a little smoother, and a bit better suited for stoplight races along the beach roads, but visually it sits really close to how we bought it in 2001.
