"It had my name on it"

By: Tom 07/15/2020

My son, Tony, and I spotted this truck while roaming the first Tri-five Nationals. Our last names are Sinclair, so we were immediately drawn to it. There wasn't a for sale sign, and the owner wasn't around. We kept stalking the area, and finally caught him as he was driving out to go home. After some discussion, a deal was struck. I drove it 700 miles straight through to get it home (arriving about 4 A.M., after way too many energy drinks and candy bars). It's a frame off build, and has a 350 crate engine, 700R4 transmission, TCI independent front suspension, disc brakes, 18" Boss wheels with Nitto tires (I've also got a set of 15” tires and wheels that I switch occasionally), Vintage Air, power steering, tilt wheel, and a custom interior by Ciadella Interiors. The paint is the original (Brewster Green) color. I had intended to change the "Pete's" lettering to "Tom's", but within a week, I noticed people were already calling it "Pete". It now has over 42,000 trouble free miles on it since the rebuild. “Pete” was once featured on an episode of Powerblock with Courtney Hansen, has won numerous awards, including a “Suede & Chrome” from Goodguys, has been in numerous magazines including Goodguy's, Street Rodder, Super Chevy, The American Tri-Five, Street Trucks, Car Craft, and a 2 page, table of contents spread in NSRA Streetscene. It has also been used by several professional photographers for Christmas cards and a wedding.
