1970 Corvette Rebuild

By: Brian 04/15/2021

I was lucky to find a C3 Corvette in a rebuildable condition as the frame and birdcage were good. I'm a rookie and so it took a bit of inquiry to figure out where to begin.

I started with taking pictures of virtually every inch of the car and everything thing I removed working towards removing the body....it's only 8 bolts ! LOL !

Each step has been a learning experience to say the least. I wanted my Corvette to be different from stock so I started with the suspension in front and installed Global West Dbl adjustable coil over, new front hubs & bearings, Speeddirect R & P Steering, BluePrint 400 CI /460HP/490TQ (Dyno-test 473HP/512TQ) with Holley 4150 EFI, SouthwestSpeed Headers to avoid the R&P steering linkage ( bigger issue than it seems), rebuilt the TH400 to handle the added power, new Torque Converter , rebuilt the differential via Eddie at RamJetPro.com, new trialing arms and hubs, installed a Sharkbite rear suspension, new gas tank with the Holley sending unit, Brakes are redone with Willwood D8-4 calipers and Wilwood rotors and SS lines front and rear. The drive shaft I've yet to address but will.

Have to wait to see if the drop style Holley Air Cleaner will fit ? if I use the original hood.

Still working towards the goal of driving it one day !
