Cam Install and Dyno Results

By: Alex 06/06/2022

Shortly after taking possession of this Z from my dad, there was only one thing to do. I had begged him to put a cam in it for almost two decades, so it was time to finally get the job done. During my time at BTR, I became very familiar with what works, what doesn't, and what made people the happiest when it came to cam selection. I ultimately went with the BTR Stage 4 Truck cam. While the name won't lead you to believe that this cam is what you'd want in a Corvette, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

This car gets driven 3-4 times per week, so I didn't want a cam that would beat the crap out of me at low RPM. I wanted good power down low while expanding how far power carried in the upper RPM range. This cam does exactly that. Duration checks in at 224/230 which gives me a great sounding idle without bucking and surging, while lift peaks at .553" on both sides, allowing me to use the stock blue LS6 valve springs. Money saved and power was made, to the tune of 410 whp and 406 lb/ft of torque thanks to the keystrokes of Halbert @ Dynosty.
