1994 Mustang Family Edition - 100-hour detail

By: Michael 07/13/2022

I've brought older neglected cars back to life before, but this one is different. My cousin Joanna bought this car off the lot back in late 1993, and though it sat in the Oklahoma sun for the last seven years as she fought cancer and was unable to drive, it has the good bones of a Mustang that wasn't driven like a NASCAR qualifier.

Of course, it helps that it's the 3.8l, manual everything except for the transmission. This is the base of all base models and wouldn't be valued more than $2500 as is.

But I'm going to firm up the suspension, optimize the 3.8l as I can, and hopefully find a Coyote engine from an F150 or Mustang at the PicknPull. It's not going to be my daily driver, so I can afford to work on it in bits and pieces - my son is nearing 11 and is over 5 feet tall already, so I know he'll drive it at some point. How cool would it be to soup up for him to drive to High School!

Doing a 100-hour detail this week and into the weekend; let's see what we really have!
