Bryan's 1966 Chevy II

By: Bryan 12/14/2022

Interesting story, I bought the car in 2019, it was a pro street car with a 400 SBC and your traditional old school pro street style build. It was a fun car to drive but I was anxious to LS swap it and add some power and reliability. I wasn't sure what direction I'd go with the car until a unique opportunity came my way. A good friend of mine Jon West won the Holley LS giveaway twin supercharged LSX engine and was looking to make a deal. Jon has a 1969 Camaro that was recently LS swapped and didn't need the engine so I bought it from him and that's what started the build. I took the car to Hans Gebhard at Fineline Restoration in Brighton CO who does it all.

The engine from Holley was a twin supercharged LSX. We made a couple changes and switched the superchargers for turbos, added the intercooler intake and Holley Dominator management system, all backed with an extreme duty 4L80 and made 1xxx whp with room to grow. The front suspension is a TCI Pro Touring along TCI 4 link out back with a Quick Performance 9" and 373 gears.

The body was completely overhauled, drip rails shaved, flush mount glass, and fuel cap. We added carbon fiber bumpers, deck lid, hood, and mirrors for a subtle accent. The paint is graphite gray metallic and goes really well with the carbon fiber accents. The wheels are Forgeline 18's and a drag pack set up with Weld beadlocks when we need to get down.

What started out as an LS swap turned into a full build with thousands of man hours to create the car I've dreamed about my entire life. With Han's expertise and direction I have everything I ever wanted in a Chevy II and more. I couldn't be happier with the finished product and I'm looking forward to showing it off at LS Fest West 2023'
