1985 Chevrolet Camaro z28. I’ve owned this car for 28 years. When I purchased this vehicle it was bone stock with 42k miles no option base z28. The only option this car had was t tops and the z28 option. An LG4 305 backed by a T5 going to an open 7.5 rear end with a 3:23 rear gear. Over the past 6 years I’ve been doing a few updates to the vehicle. Trying to get as much power from the Lg4 I replaced cam and added some trick flow super 23 175 heads and a matching duel plain intake manifold a summit 600 cfm carb a set of eBay headers ( the driver side header had to be modified in order to clear the t5s slave cylinder) and a Detroit locker ( never do that again) with a 3:73..I kept this drive line while I updated the chassis and suspension compartments. First few things I added were Detroit speed sub frame connectors and a quad link. This allowed me to make a true duel 3 in exhaust using stainless steal works resonators as mufflers. Then I added Qa1 duel adjustable front struts with Detroit speed strut mounts and rear shocks with a set of HOTCHKIS lowering springs. Spohn performance front tubular lower control arms with both front and rear sway bars and links. For the brakes I use 4 Gen F body rears and 06 Z06 14 in 4 piston Brembo's for the fronts. Once I got the car to handle and stop well it was time to update the drive line. For the drive line I started with a 04 LQ9 replacing everything except the crank and block. I used gen 3 LS rods with ARP fasteners. New pistons and all new bearings. I added a Comp 237/248 632/627 (54-303-11) cam with a set of trick flow Gen X 255 heads/ Yella Terra shaft mounted adjustable roller rockers. F.A.S.T 102 intake and a set of stainless steal works 1 7/8 headers. A terminator X manages the engine operation. For the transmission I chose an America powertrain T56F with a close ratio and an American powertrain white lightning shifter to row through the gears. Out back is a 04 mustang 8.8 center section with the GM 7.5 axle tube added spinning Moser 31 spine axles and a 3:73 rear gear. The wheels are C6 corvette 18 in front and 305 19s in the rear. A MPI steering wheel with Sparco seats and 4 point belts connected to a 4 point role bar keep things safe This car was entirely built by myself. The welding ,painting and fabrication was done in my shop over the last 6 years. I take a lot of pride in the work I do and appreciate seeing other people’s work and efforts..
